About the conference
OSSFE is the community conference for the software powering fusion research and commercialisation. Over three days in Madison, we’ll share tools, swap ideas across institutions and companies, and grow the open-source ecosystem that the field increasingly depends on, through talks, tutorials, posters and panels.
Fusion is too important to build behind closed doors. OSSFE champions open, reusable, well-tested software, so the whole field can build on each other’s work instead of reinventing it.
From plasma physics and materials to neutronics, tritium and reactor engineering: we bring together the codes and the people pushing fusion energy toward reality.
Researchers, national labs, startups and students in one room. OSSFE is where maintainers meet users, collaborations start, and the next generation finds its footing.
“OSSFE is the most valuable event I ever attended in fusion.”
“I was amazed by the pace and the growth of open-source software for fusion.”
“You are building a long-term community. We can be ambitious, and the community is in good hands.”
“The most valuable outcome for me was seeing a lot of like-minded people in one room.”
“Fantastic event! Thank you so much for organising.”
